AMGEN APPOINTS NEW UK AND IRELAND GENERAL MANAGER
[28 March 2007, Cambridge, UK] – Amgen has appointed John Kearney to the position of general manager for the UK and Ireland. John will oversee the sales and marketing of Amgen’s oncology and nephrology divisions as well as the company’s relationships with key regulatory bodies and other organisations.
John is an experienced manager with a track record of success gained from 27 years in the sector. He joins Amgen from Pfizer where his roles included general manager South Africa and senior director marketing for Europe and Canada. He started his pharmaceutical career at Glaxo where he gained experience across a range of commercial positions from sales and marketing management. John graduated from the University of Durham with a BA (hons) in economics.
Speaking on his appointment, John Kearney explained, “With an exciting product pipeline, Amgen is a dynamic place to be. I am relishing my challenge to build on Amgen’s existing successes.”
